The small (approx. 15 sqm) apartment on the Sonnhalde resembles a hotel room (with kitchenette, minibar and. Bad) and is in a natural location on one of Freiburg's attractive panoramic streets, 1.8 km (5 minutes by car) from the old town (Münsterplatz).
The bright apartment is located on the ground floor of a two-family house in a quiet location on a (approx. 50 m high) slope with a view of the Black Forest.
The use of an approx. 10 sqm garden terrace (southeast orientation) is possible. It can also be used by the guests of the holiday apartment in the DG. The terrace is part of a small courtyard and is located next to the entrance area of the house. You can also smoke here.
The nearest bus stop (direct bus line to the city center and the main train station) is 300 meters from the apartment.
There, in the center of Herdern, are also all shops for daily needs, e.g. B. a grocery store, bakery, butcher, pharmacy, bank, hairdressers, cafes and restaurants etc.
On the nearby church square (cath. Church of St. Urban) there is a weekly market on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The walking and hiking trails in the Black Forest begin opposite the apartment. B. to the Rosskopf, to the Zähringer castle, to the Schlossberg, to St. Ottilien etc.
We provide two bicycles free of charge on request.
The approx. 15 sqm apartment is furnished in a country house style and has a living / dining room with kitchenette and a high-quality sofa bed with cold foam mattress and slatted frame, which can be easily converted into a double bed (1.50 x 2.00 m, Lying height: 27 cm) is pulled out.
If necessary, the comfort can be increased with a topper (mattress topper).
The small bathroom is equipped with a shower, toilet, sink, and hair dryer
an extendable clothesline.
The apartment is newly renovated and equipped with a beech parquet floor, on which a deep-pile carpet lies, a high-quality soundproof door and external blinds (operated by radio).
The pantry kitchen consists of a mini fridge, a ceramic hob with 2 plates, a small sink, a kettle, a coffee maker (French Press System), an espresso maker, a small toaster and equipment for 2 people.
An iron and basic equipment with spices, vinegar, oil, tea, coffee, cleaning agents, liquid soap, toilet paper, shampoo, facial tissues etc. is available.
Flat screen TV, smoke detector (in the stairwell), telephone connection and free internet connection (WLAN).
The price includes bed linen (pillows and duvets are covered), bath, hand and kitchen towels and a bathroom mat.
There are enough free parking spaces for your car on the Sonnhalde.

Summary: We stayed here for 2 nights while exploring the Black Forest. We were given a warm welcome by the owners, and the apartment is a great little place! It is small but has real character, and the only thing to note is that the sofa bed/futon is not as comfortable as a real one. There is a bakery and supermarket within walking distance and we were able to park on the street outside. I would happily stay here again and would highly recommend it to others.
